چکیده

We have performed electronic tunneling density of states and resistivity measurements in three-dimensional Cu x Ge 100~x "lms spanning the weakly and strongly localized regimes. We found that the Coulomb anomaly in tunneling density of states in the strongly disordered regime is very profound and grows in strength with resistivity. However, when the system becomes less disorderly and approaches the weakly disordered regime, this anomaly weakens rapidly. The data suggest that the disorder enhanced electron}electron interaction e!ects can drive the crossover from weak disorder to strong disorder in CuGe alloy system. ( 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. Zero-bias anomaly in one-dimensional tunneling contacts

We study the Coulomb interaction effects on the tunneling conductance of a contact constructed of two parallel quantum wires. The following contacts are considered: two clean identical quantum wires, two disordered identical quantum wires, and asymmetric contact of one clean and another disordered quantum wires. We show that the low-voltage anomaly of the tunneling conductance is less singular ...

Zero bias anomaly in the density of states of low - dimensional metals

We consider the effect of Coulomb interactions on the average density of states (DOS) of disordered low-dimensional metals for temperatures T and frequencies ω smaller than the inverse elastic life-time 1/τ0. Using the fact that long-range Coulomb interactions in two dimensions (2d) generate ln singularities in the DOS ν(ω) but only ln-singularities in the conductivity σ(ω), we can re-sum the m...

Tunneling into multiwalled carbon nanotubes: coulomb blockade and the Fano resonance.

Tunneling spectroscopy measurements of single tunnel junctions formed between multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) and a normal metal are reported. Intrinsic Coulomb interactions in the MWNTs give rise to a strong zero-bias suppression of a tunneling density of states that can be fitted numerically to the environmental quantum-fluctuation theory. An asymmetric conductance anomaly near zero bias...

Coulomb effects in granular materials at not very low temperatures

Coulomb effects in granular materials at not very low temperatures. Abstract We consider effects of Coulomb interaction in a granular normal metal at not very low temperatures suppressing weak localization effects. In this limit calculations with the initial electron Hamiltonian are reduced to integrations over a phase variable with an effective action, which can be considered as a bosonization...

Comment on "Electronic correlation effects and the Coulomb gap at finite temperature".

We have investigated the effect of the long-range Coulomb interaction on the one-particle excitation spectrum of n-type germanium, using tunneling spectroscopy on mechanically controllable break junctions. At low temperatures, the tunnel conductance shows a minimum at zero bias voltage due to the Coulomb gap. Above 1 K, the gap is filled by thermal excitations. This behavior is reflected in the...
